Accessibility

Statement for the U.S. Center for SafeSport

We firmly believe that our resources should be available and accessible to everyone. We are committed to improving the accessibility of our digital materials to better serve our users, regardless of ability.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) explain how to make web content accessible for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We aim to adhere to WCAG 2.1 at the AA level, which means that our digital materials would be usable and understandable for most people. We are continually improving our materials to meet this standard.

The Center provides links to third-party websites that may not conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The conformance status of these external websites is outside of our control.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our digital materials. Please let us know if you encounter any barriers or would like to request accommodation.

We try to respond to feedback and requests within two (2) business days.

User Recommendations

Website

Our website is compatible with most modern web browsers, including Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. While most of our content is mobile-friendly, we recommend using a desktop system for the best user experience.

We use a tool called accessiBe that allows people with specific disabilities to adjust the user interface for their personal needs. It also runs in the background and constantly optimizes the website to correct the HTML. It adapts its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by blind users and keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
